Lindsey CorbittClass year and major:2011, Electronic Media with minor in Business Administration

Hometown: Kokomo, Ind.

Why did you choose Butler? The faculty and campus environment felt very comfortable to me. I knew that I would have the opportunity to succeed at Butler, as well as the chance to branch out into the great city of Indianapolis.

Most memorable academic experience at Butler: I took a summer trip with the Media Arts Department to study international media in Germany. During the trip, I traveled to Berlin, Amsterdam, and Prague. The experience really opened my eyes to the importance of keeping up with news and media from around the world as it affects us here in the United States.

Activities you’re involved with outside of the classroom: Butler women’s track and field. Secretary of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. NCAA Certification Committee on Gender and Diversity. Black Student Union. Morton-Finney Leadership Program.

The most important thing you’ve learned at Butler: Never judge people or situations. Through interaction with students from all over the world, I’ve learned that it’s very important to always have an open mind when dealing with new people, ideas, and concepts.
