Class of 2011 graduates Grant Leiendecker and Emily Newell have accepted postgraduate internships with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

They were among 19 new graduates selected for the year-long internships based at the NCAA national headquarters in Indianapolis. The appointments, which start June 6, provide on-the-job learning experiences in intercollegiate athletics administration.

Leiendecker will work with the NCAA’s Eligibility Center. A finance major, he played guard for the Bulldogs men’s basketball team, contributing to the Bulldogs’ consecutive Horizon League regular season titles and league tournament championships.

Newell, a journalism major, has been assigned to the NCAA’s public and media relations department. She served as both managing editor and sports editor of The Collegian,winning awards for her writing.
