Seniors Andrew Wray and Molly Kordas won first place honors while representing the Butler Speech and Debate Team Dec. 1 in a tournament at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky.

General Fairbanks ExteriorAfter both qualified for finals, Wray took first place in the Radio Broadcasting event, and Kordas won in Programmed Oral Interpretation.

Wray also finished fourth in the Impromptu Story competition; freshman Mallory Duncan placed fifth in the event.

“We are very proud of them!” said Janis Crawford, director of forensics in the College of Communication.

 On Saturday, Dec. 8, the speech team will host a tournament on involving 18 Indiana high schools and more than 200 students.
