Travelers passing through Indianapolis International Airport on Saturday, May 28, were treated to a musical surprise: A flash mob featuring Butler Professor of Music Eric Stark conducting the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, two pianists and three percussionists performing Carl Orff’s “O Fortuna” from Carmina Burana.

Stark, the artistic director of the symphonic choir, said the performance was arranged through the airport’s pr firm. Numerous Butler students and alumni were part of the performance.
“I’d been wanting to do a flash mob for a while,” Stark said, “but felt we needed ours to be special, more than just the shopping mall. Race weekend at the new airport seemed a great way to highlight the locale.”
