Jana FuelberthClass year and major: 2010, Marketing

Current position and responsibilities: Marketing Manager at Univita Health. My job varies from day to day. It is a mix of business development, product development, marketing and operations.

Major project/achievement of the past year: Presenting to the president of a large health plan. It was as nerve-wracking as it was exciting. Also rewarding was creating marketing plans to strategically reposition two of our most valuable products.

Why did you choose marketing as your career path: My grandfather and fellow Butler alum, Bud Laue ‘49, always told me to get a business degree because you can do almost anything with it. While I enjoy all sides of business, marketing came naturally to me. It was a good place to start out and get my feet wet, but I hope to transition into private equity and mergers and acquisitions soon.

How did Butler prepare you for your career: Butler provides you with the tools to be successful – the professors, the L. Ben Lytle Career Center, the mentoring program, and so on. I challenge every College of Business (COB) student to take advantage of every opportunity given to them.

Most memorable experience(s) at Butler: Within the COB,it has to be shaking Dr. Fetter’s hand after I had signed a contract with Univita. He had helped me through a nail-biting negotiation process. Outside of the COB, it is spending time with my pledge class “The Weasels.”
